The iStudio story
Background
The iStudio range is being developed by c:four, a team of graphic designers, publishers, writers and software architects. We were unhappy with current design and publishing software, so decided we would have a bash at creating our perfect design and writing applications. We hope they are perfect for you too.
Our first task was to create a design engine, to handle the layout and typography which is capable of creating anything on screen and in print.

Filling the gap
While we were designing our perfect professional design application, iStudio Pro, we noticed that there was a big gap between word processor applications and professional DTP applications, hence iStudio Publisher was born.
We thought long and hard about the user interface for iStudio Publisher. The first thing that made itself obvious was it should be simple to use, without losing professional output.
The releases
What you see today is our first release of iStudio Publisher. We can’t get everything in the first release that we would wish, so we're asking you to come on a DTP journey with us. Version 1.5 of the application will be released at Macworld in January 2009.
In between the major updates we will be releasing many minor updates, adding functionality all the time, so please enable the updates, as they'll be coming thick and fast.
