Adding Text to an Existing Shape

To add text inside an existing shape:

Select any of the Pointer Tool, Text Tool, Reshaping Tool or Rotation Tool.

Double click on a shape to open the column container for text input and insert the text cursor. The Text Tool is auto-selected, ready for text input.

You can now add text by typing or pasting it in.

As an alternative:

You can drag text from elsewhere in your iStudio Publisher document, or from other applications, and drop it into a shape.

To add text around an existing shape:

To enter text on a shape's path, you must first complete a one-time operation to enable the path:

either, manually using the Text Along Path Tool, which is required for individual paths that are not flow linked

or, automatically using the Text Flow Tool to flow link the path to any other text container (column or path)

You can now add text to the path by typing, pasting or dragging it in, as for adding text inside an existing shape.

NOTE: Once any particular path has been enabled, that path can be opened for edit, or receive drag and drop text, at any time.
