Preferences

Preferences panel

Preferences are application level settings, which can be configured differently by each user.

To open the Preferences panel choose menu option iStudio Publisher > Preferences (or keyboard shortcut ⌘,).

Startup

Startup options determine which panels are shown when iStudio Publisher launches.

NOTE: If you launch the application by opening an existing iStudio Publisher document file, the selected document is opened instead of either the Task Chooser or New Document dialog.

These preferences can also be set via the corresponding "Show when iStudio Publisher starts" checkbox on the Welcome Panel and Task Chooser.

Auto Save

When editing any document, iStudio Publisher will automatically create a separate copy of that document, an 'autosaved' file, which it saves every few minutes. Autosaved files are stored in your Documents folder.

The auto save preference enables you to set how many minutes will elapse between each successive saving of the autosaved file.

Default Text

The default text preferences are applied to all new text flows that you add to a document. Any changes you make to the default text preferences will have no affect on the existing content of any document.

The font, size and color settings all work in the same way as their corresponding settings on the Character Inspector.

The line spacing settings work in the same way as their corresponding settings on the Paragraph Inspector.

If you add some new text to a document that needs to be styled differently to the default text you can select the text and change its style via the Character Inspector and Paragraph Inspector.
