This Customer Privacy Policy tells you about the types of information we gather, how we use the information and for what purposes, to whom we disclose the information, and how we safeguard your personal information. Your privacy is a high priority at iStudio Software, and we protect it carefully.

Why we collect personal information

We collect your personal information to help us deliver a better customer service. It enables us to give you convenient access to our products and services and helps us to keep you up to date with iStudio Software news, software updates, special offers and the latest information on products and services.

What information we collect and when

There are a number of situations in which collecting your personal information may help us to provide you with a better service. For example, we may ask for your personal information when you call us for product support, download a software trial or update, participate in an online survey, and register or purchase a product. We may also collect information about the iStudio Software products you own, such as their License Activation Code, date of purchase and any support or service issues. This helps us to gain a better understanding of our customers and enables us to improve our products and services. We also collect information about customer activities on our website. By finding out which parts of our website and Internet services are of most interest we can provide more useful information.

If you use a forum on the iStudio Software website you should be aware that any information you share is visible to other users. Personally identifiable information that you submit to a forum can be read, collected, and used by other individuals to send you unsolicited messages. iStudio Software is not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these forums.

When we disclose your information

iStudio Software takes your privacy very seriously. Be assured that we will never share, sell, or rent individual personal information with anyone for use in marketing or promotional activities.

There are times when it may be advantageous for iStudio Software to make certain personal information about you available to companies that perform work for iStudio Software to provide products and services to you on our behalf. These companies may help us to process information, fulfill customer orders, deliver products to you, manage and enhance customer data, provide customer service, assess your interest in our products and services, or conduct customer research or satisfaction surveys. These companies are also obligated to protect your personal information in accordance with iStudio Software’s policies. At times we may be required by law or litigation to disclose your personal information. We may also disclose information about you if we determine that for national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance, disclosure is necessary.

How we protect your personal information

iStudio Software takes precautions — including administrative, technical, and physical measures — to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft, and misuse, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

The iStudio Software Online Store uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption on all web pages where personal information is required. To make purchases from the iStudio Software Online Store, you must use an SSL-enabled browser such as Safari, Firefox, or Internet Explorer. Doing so protects the confidentiality of your personal and credit card information whilst it’s being transmitted over the Internet.

You can help us by also taking precautions to protect your personal data when you are on the Internet. Change your passwords often using a combination of letters and numbers, and make sure you use a secure web browser.

Integrity of your personal information

iStudio Software has safeguards in place to keep your personal information accurate, complete, and up to date for the purposes for which it is used.

You can also request a copy of your personal information, your product registration history, and your interactions with our sales and support representatives by contacting us at the email address below.

Cookies and other technologies

iStudio Software’s website uses ‘cookies’ and other technologies to help us understand which parts of our websites are the most popular, where our visitors are going, and how much time they spend there. This is standard practice on many corporate websites and helps us to study the effectiveness of our customer communications and to improve your user experience. We also use cookies to customize your experience and provide greater convenience each time you interact with us.

For example, knowing your first name lets us welcome you with a greeting the next time you visit our website. Information such as your country and language helps us provide a more useful online shopping experience. And your contact information, License Activation Code(s), and information about your computer helps us to provide you with customer service.

Cookies were originally designed to help a website distinguish a user’s browser as a previous visitor and thus save and remember any preferences that may have been set while the user was browsing the site. A cookie is a small string of text that a website can send to your browser. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from your hard drive, pass on computer viruses, or capture your email address. Websites use cookies to enhance the user’s visit. Cookies can store a user’s ID and password securely, personalize home pages, identify which parts of a site have been visited, or keep track of selections in a ‘shopping cart.’

If you are just browsing iStudio Software’s website, a cookie identifies only your browser. If you become a registered user on iStudio Software’s website (with a login account), we may use cookies so that we can provide personalized information that we believe will be of value to you based on preferences you have indicated while visiting the site. If you are just browsing our site and are not a registered user, you do not have to accept a cookie and you can still continue browsing the site. However, if you are trying to access your confidential account, you must accept the website’s cookies because they are essential for site administration and security. Accepting a cookie does not affect your ability to decline email offers.

If you prefer, your browser is likely to have settings that will allow you to disable cookies. Please note that certain features of the iStudio Software website will not be available once cookies are disabled.

As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and click-stream data.

We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. iStudio Software will not use the information collected to market directly to that person.

Email messages

Our email marketing is permission based. If you have received an email from us, this will be because you have either expressly shared this address for the purpose of receiving information in the future (“opt-in”), or you have registered or purchased or otherwise have an existing relationship with us.

We respect your time and attention by controlling the frequency of our mailings. Our marketing emails contain an easy, automated way for you to cease receiving email from us, or else emails without this are of a “one-off” nature.

If you believe you have received unwanted, unsolicited email from us, please forward a copy of that email with your comments to support@istudiopublisher.com for review.

In some of our email messages we use a “click-through URL” linked to content on the iStudio Software website. When a customer clicks one of these URLs, they pass through our web server before arriving at the destination web page. We track this click-through data to help us determine interest in particular topics and measure the effectiveness of our customer communications. If you prefer not to be tracked simply avoid clicking text or graphic links in the email.

In addition we use pixel tags — tiny graphic images — to tell us what parts of our website customers have visited or to measure the effectiveness of searches customers perform on our site. Pixel tags also enable us to send email messages in a format that customers can read. They also tell us whether emails have been opened to ensure that we’re only sending messages that are of interest to our customers.

Privacy questions

If you have questions or concerns about iStudio Software’s Customer Privacy Policy or data processing, please contact support. We will respond to your enquiry within 30 days.

iStudio Software may update this Customer Privacy Policy from time to time. When we change the Policy in a material way a notice will be posted on our website along with the updated Customer Privacy Policy.
